Did it require approval on underwriting?

@John Fong if you meet the IRS requirements to qualify as a short-term rental and material participant (7 tests, you must meet at least 1) you may qualify to offset non-passive income (W-2, 1099, etc) with short-term rental losses. 

They are now requesting/requiring listing an “owner” as additional insured.

Put some systems into place with bookkeeping, maintenance, forms, etc. and learn what your state/county/city requires of landlords.

Is that common, most by us are STR.Not sure how you write your lease but ours cancels with significant damage and we require renters insurance.

Then when the building inspector came out for the final, there was less than $400 of electrical changes he required.

The third duplexes requires repairs.

I have never come across a source that suggests there is a time constraint other than the requirement that the inspection take place within the two weeks prior to move-out.

However, homes are more expensive there that requires more down payment.

It sounds like this is a single unit - in the new lease require the tenant to transfer utilities into their name and have them pay for it.
