I will leave the (I)legality of it out of the discussion and just look at the overall strategy.You would need to get your agent to get an offer accepted on the property and then you would need to find a buyer willing to pay you a price that is higher then the listing agent and every other agent who is a part of that MLS could find another buyer to pay.

I am not aware of it being confidential unless you have agreed to those terms....maybe a pm can chime in...But a clever person may be able to get your name and contact info through an assessor database or other public source ..As to your question, I find tenants that leave owing you money tend to have just the opposite reaction (more flight than fight)..

Not sure if it's allowed but if you have a contractor contact who could help you build an estimate of repairs it would be helpful to leave some copies on the kitchen counter as well as loading a copy of it up on the documents section of your MLS.

Could just wait until you are ready to leave and do a lease option then.If I were the prospective buyer, I would view the seller living for 2 years in my building to be a potential hassle.
