Covid has caused numerous restaurants and businesses to go bankrupt and shut down, the things that drew people to city life are no longer available, that will also cause an exodus, especially with no real end to the SF lockdown in sight. 

She's a foodie and a chef, she works at a high-end sushi restaurant.  

But, hey, I hope his/her idiocy means you make more money.This sounds like a Mexican neighborhood,  And in my opinion, in growing up with a best friend who was Mexican, as well as many in my life since then in California, the neighborhood probably has no problem, whatsoever, with this person doing business as a babysitter or a seamstress.If your owner is stupid enough to pay for the costs involved in evicting a Mexican person in an Mexican neighborhood, because she was trying to make a living - then he deserves everything he/she gets.And don't think for a second, that his "reputation" won't hurt him in finding another good tenant.Welcome to Mexi-Cal. 

I've seen MANY of these so called "deals" on Loop Net with space for some shoppers / restaurant goers.

Plopped down in a very tiny Mexican town outside Fresno, CA, is a beautiful subsidized senior apartment complex. 

During the summer months if they don't have class, they can actually work full time.J-1 students (exchange students) may not work unless that work is an integral part of the studies, such as an exchange doctor may practice medicine if that's part of the exchange program.Spouses and children of students, those holding M2, J2, F2 cannot work legally, period.But most work illegally if they really do need money, such as working on weekends in a Chinese restaurant getting paid cash under the table.

We live in a small community and many restaurants, stores have bulletin boards.

After it's all cleared up send them a gift certificate for a nice restaurant and thank them for their understanding a patience.If it was in the winter I would put them in a hotel or provide space heaters and give a rent rebate.

Mike, if anyone complains, tell them you'll buy them dinner at the Grapevine (my favorite restaurant near you), and that should seal the deal!
