If there is a used appliance store around, see if they deal in A/C or furnace parts.If none of that works... then you've got to sand and paint, as has been discussed.

Many will say their eventual commission is their incentive and this is simply the nature of their work, but something like a gas card would help let them know you appreciate their hard work and should be pretty universally accepted as opposed to trying to guess what restaurants they might like/stores they might shop at.

The one detail I failed to mention is that an Airstream owner who did the same idea last year (sans garage challenge, just bought an Airstream and placed on big lot behind his house) sold his house and will rent me his Airstream for $500/mo. versus paying to store it.
