The other thing is take a 30 Year but make the 20, 15, 10 year payment again when you can but if the ship hits the wall your only obligated to pay the 30 year!

While that adds to the character of the home, it also creates a maintenance headache with peeling layers of paint with the potential of containing lead.Not sure if this answers your question, but it explains part of why I won't buy century old houses.

You certainly do not want quartz counter tops when all other comps are tile, etc, etc.Best bang for your value add buck is kitchens, master bed/bath, room additions, adding additional bedrooms/bathrooms to title (with PERMITS), and presentation - front and rear yards should contain wow factors as the front yard is the first thing potential buyers see.You also want to pay close attention to the homes on each side and across from you.
