He says he can keep track of the losses to carry forward from a K-1 until they start showing profit.

If you are just starting on your journey, it is best to start simple and then add complexity with experience. 

I started real estate investing, while living in New York City and working as a leasing agent in my early twenties.

I don't pay for an exterminator, and don't want to start.

5) Consider meeting with a few agents in your area even if you are just getting started!

Saw a house with a For Sale by Owner sign in a yard with tall grass and after some drama, we have a house.We have dealt with long term rentals for over 15 years, but not aggressively ( keep them rented and do some improvements ).This "old house" needs, updated HVAC, new roof, new kitchen, some broken windows, upgraded electrical, water run off issues...I'm just starting to clear the house out with multiple dumpsters and starting to get quotes.  

Mid last year I came across biggerpockets, have been learning about REI and am thinking house hacking maybe the place to start for me.
