I've been living in WA State for a year and have been learning my local market (I live about 45 min northwest of Tacoma on the Kitsap peninsula) while saving to buy my first property.The high home prices and high interest rates are making it challenging to find good deals.

It is a good tax savings strategy especially if you are a firm believer in money now is worth more than money later.

(You can do better in a savings account!)

I plan on living on one side of the the duplex.

Save for a down payment.

However, based on the suggested  10-40% tax savings it could be a no-brainer.

I am planning to do a house hack on a property.

@Nick Pamintuan Make sure there is a comprehensive exit plan for the LLC.

Around $6000 in savings, and the same in a 401k.
