If you provided your last project as an example and could get them to do the takeoff quantity for the various options they should be able to give you not only costs but also schedule impacts...the cheapest option may take an extra 2 months to construct, so what's your carrying costs on that?  

Check your sizes and quantities and make sure they stock them so you don't end up holding up your job waiting on windows.

Typically we only put in what is needed (underwriters like to scour and question, so the less there is to scour, the easier the conditions are on a borrower), but adding extra money into the mix can sometimes do the trick to overcome any objections the automated underwriting system is having. 

It means I can't go in for house hacking but I can be more objective on where I invest because I don't have to worry about living there.
