So I strongly recommend that your rental have its own bank account.As for worries about the mortgage bouncing - the only way to prevent that is to fund the rental property's account up-front with some reserve capital.

So many landlords set up these types of additional escrow accounts and fund them monthly to try and anticipate those expenses - but these are separate from the lender's escrow for taxes & insurance.All the best!

If the PCR (Property Condition Report) identifies the property as IE (Insurable with Escrow) the, yes, a lender may allow you to fund an escrow account at closing.
