Don't hate on the tenant applicants that, like you, enjoy being their own boss and setting their own hours, provided that this desire isn't getting in the way of steady/increasing income. :)If they are dodgy about showing this stuff, or want you to focus on some future projection they've created in Excel or via a guru framework (yup, the taxi alternatives have taxi gurus just like we have RE and airbnb gurus!)

Luckily, we have attic ladders for a simple and convenient solution to start enjoying that extra space you have.

I don't recommend doing this if you don't have time or don't enjoy learning about this type of thing.Total cost (not counting time): $10/year domain + $11/month hosting + (maybe) $75 theme + $20 for a couple of stock photos: ~$100 + $12/month.

@Rachel Trimble and Mark Luchsinger, as much as I would truly enjoy getting on any of Austin area roads and not sitting in traffic, quit trying to give our potential rental leads to Utah.... :) Happy New Year!

I enjoy reading Brandon's stuff, he does a great job at scratching the surface, but I'm not seeing any in depth analysis going on, you'll have to do that yourself.

I enjoy it, slightly, but if you're looking for a hands off ATM machine, I think you'll be disappointed.A good game plan for you would be to pick-up a few rentals, screen and install good tenants and then hand the rent collection and 2am clogged toilets over to a PM.  

Furthermore, other affiliated chemical manufacturing is enjoying the lower feed stock prices as well.The RE market might soften somewhat, but I seriously doubt the bottom is about to fall out.

This is why I enjoy this industry.

I think it finally settled in and they got it when I moved my family into a big house in an affluent beach community in So Cal, and they could see we were really enjoying life without worrying about money.

Some people enjoy the satisfaction of doing it themselves and knowing it was a job well done.
