There is a balance, but if I find someone I like, I will recommend them to others and use them anytime I need something (and I have done with my PM and my realtor).

Any other book recommendations are great, I just want to be able to have a conversation with those more experienced and not have them look down at me for being young and not real estate literate.

I have listened to some podcasts that highly recommend STRs and very lucrative and buy more. 

I would recommend making friends with people in your work place, or school, and letting them know you are buying a home with extra rooms you want to rent. 

I wouldn't recommend that you DIY this.
