We are in the middle of a 1031 exchange and the last property is delayed in closing because the seller, a church, cannot find the documents describing who has legal authority to sell the property.Does anyone know if this gets filed with the state somewhere?

@Daniel Fleming  Contact the local section 8 office and see if they have a copy of the lease.....out here in California the landlord has to provide a copy of the lease to the Housing Authority....As an FYI....Is there a reason you want to evict the tenant?

Most of the municipalties/tax authorities seem to hand over to one of several different law firms to handle the proceedings and sales, I'm guessing to minimize risk and handle the problems.I'm really interested to hear the proceedings this month of the San Francisco case...I'm planning/thinking of attending the hearing to see how/what is discussed.http://www.sfchronicle.com/bayarea/article/2nd-tim...Saw this problem today, but not sure previous owner can resolve it.

He leaves Philly around 4:30AM each day, takes the bus, and arrives at the Port Authority at 8:30AM.I thought that it was a fluke till I had dinner with my wife's co-worker at their house in Philly.

Or, worse yet.....THEY now have something they can blackmail you with to the housing authority at any time they want....it's not worth it.Find section 8 tenants with a 5 bedroom voucher....there are plenty out there.
