Hi folks,I'm wondering if people would be so kind as to share their opinion with how they would handle my current situation.My homeowner's insurance (I'm house hacking) is requiring I fix the external walk-up stairs to my tenant's unit-located on the second floor of my 2 unit house.

Appreciation is also going very well, also there’s a lot of external development going on as well.

I am still waiting for what happens on Nov. 3rd, and for other external variables to subside since it's not a normal situation we're in. 

As we all know, the average life of a roof is about 15-20 and around 10 -12 in harsher environments like being beach side.

For example, how much on average are you spending on the following items:KitchenFull bathHalf bathUpdating plumbingRewiring housePatch/Paint/Repair a standard roomDumpster HireReplacing a windowReplacing internal doorReplacing External doorAppreciate your help on any of these items. 

All comes down to the neighborhood, asset type, and external conditions.

I did speak to one credit union that said they only do "external appraisals," for homes worth <$2M, where they just look at comps.

But you all made a good point about "feeling watched" and using external cameras would probably accomplish the same thing while keeping an inviting atmosphere for tenants.

They have taken excellent care of the property both internally and externally.

I am looking at a property that has an unfinished basement with an external entrance.
