I want to end up owning enough rentals and commercial building to live off of so I can start working on my other company full time and not having to work for someone else.What path has the best chance of getting me to the path fastest?

I just saw this article on Yahoo regarding where rents are rising the fastest and thought I'd share:http://finance.yahoo.com/news/cities-where-rent-ri...I agree with the article that it isn't really a great measurement of what is really happening in an area because it is a small sampling, but might help answer some of the questions posted here along the lines of, "What city is best to invest in?" 

All you need to do is look at 10 fastest appreciating markets for last decade, 20, 30, 40, and 50 years and compare them to the national average.

However, once we get to 5-7 properties, they should be able to pay themselves off every 3 years or so which should speed up the buying process.As far as lawyers go, I just closed on my current house with Ward & Taylor. 

Bad debt is bad debt and needs to be eliminated at the fastest rate possible.

When looking for a good buyers agent make sure they can work at the speed your clients will need them to work at ... that is why I got my license because I was tired of losing deals because I was waiting to either get in a property or to get the data I needed to run my numbers.

My ultimate goal is to purchase and develop land in the ever receding outer exurbs in my region.Here is a little about my world of late: Home Automation and Security technology is developing at breakneck speeds these days and staying on the cutting edge is a full time job, especially when it comes to understanding the vulnerabilities associated with these new technologies (think "Hackers"...they really, really, really do wreak havoc..no joke).
