While I’m sure it was easier for me in Minneapolis than it will be for you in Brooklyn there are still properties everywhere that work for a house hack when you add in airbnb.

We sold our investment property in Minneapolis in the last year and have some money to put to work, but I have a lot to learn about the DFW market and am not going to rush anything.

My Realtor and I moved my searches more to the suburbs myself to try and locate some lower priced SFH's about 10 minutes or so from Downtown Minneapolis but the prices are still a bit high for what I could rent them for and make any decent returns.
