Seems folks think you're going to paint a master piece with a paint by numbers set.One might know how to pick a guitar but they won't be successful in the music business unless they study music.What is it that attracts real estate zombies, is it the smell of money?

While you can put lipstick on, change carpet and paint color, floor plans become dated, boring, less functional, if you begin in a 75 year old property, you'll have a 100+ year old property in an old section by the time you get it paid off.

Let the games begin...less than 3 weeks ago I moved out of my private residence to put it up for rent, and I have already emptied it out, cleaned it, painted the interior that needed to be painted, and even hooked it up to county water (was on well, and was very hard water)!

I don't think I want to be a long distance landlord, and this thread doesn't seem to paint a very good picture of 757 property managers.

The renovations all look good, the same paint colors, the same wood floors, the same 5' kitchens (which I imagine is common for turnkey providers).  

If this doesn't paint a picture of the level of professionalism and service from SBL, then I don't know what would.Where is the apology from SBL for all of this?

Remember these older homes have lead based paint so you'll need to learn about what that entails.

@James Syed, we drive by Staunton when visiting family (Herrin/Murphysboro) and I always have to resist stopping and browsing the old car dealership there on I55....way too easy to spend money on old cars instead of investing it in something that will make money.  

They inherited a house in another state and needed carpet paint and appliances  and didn't want to put the time and money into it.

Mitch, you want the dryer to vent the warm, damp air outside for all sorts of reasons (these can include mold, moisture, rot, even health and more).
