Sounds like Habitat has done them right.B - Ground up construction and additions are not for the inexperienced investor (especially in today's market where contractors are scarce).

Maybe I should leave it and have the contractor spend money elsewhere.

I want to see interviews with the guy who lost a bunch of money because of a bad contractor and what he learned, the guy who didn't find out about real estate until he was 40 because, unlike many of the current guests, his mom wasn't a real estate agent, his grandad didn't have 7 rentals and he doesn't work in the construction industry since he was 15!

I’m 28, I have my real estate license (on retainer).

Started work on it with a contractor we thought we trusted and was good.

This morning I’d gone over to the property to meet a contractor to follow up on some repairs cited in a recent Sec. 8 inspection.

Our contractor and the bank's have signed off that everything is kosher.
