If I were you I would start much smaller, with perhaps a 3-bedroom single-family home.When you discussed that option, you talked about turning a basement into an apartment for a tenant, which is usually a major renovation project that costs a lot of money.

Hey @Taylor Smith,There are a lot of factors that play into the decision, so I would always start discussing what your current portfolio looks like, your future goals, what states you operate from generally along with a multitude of other questions.

I think a short consult from an attorney is well worth it so you’re not the one driving the discussions and no one gets hurt by the discussions.

Would anyone be able to link to any blog posts/forums that discuss Manhattan luxury apartment investing? 

ADPI is great, relatively inexpensive and they have private discussion groups for Q&A.

Just mostly ignore any discussions about tax and legal.

I ordered my countertops from IKEA as well, but due to the holiday season, the company they contracted with says they are booked out until the 9th of January which is when they can come out and measure, not even install( install is going to take another 10 business days).
