It has taken the guess work and emotion out of the decision process of purchasing homes.  

You can avoid the financial and emotional hassles down the road.

I love how information and methods take the emotion and haggling out of the process.

Its better to make decisions based on data vs. emotion. 

Moving, even for the most emotionally stable and financially well off is horribly disorientating.  

@Ward Mcdaniel You are absolutely right, I'm ready to let go the "deal", but with all the reasons mentioned above that I'm struggling with, I turned to you guys for emotional support.

Investment in the place and my idea for turning around required a longer time frame and deeper pockets than I had at the time, but thats another topic all in its own.If the earthquakes do keep up I wonder if the local officials will make changes to the building codes.   

A couple PMs could barely get past basic building processes or proper vocabulary when asked deeper questions than a homeowner would but they had a nice knit shirt with a logo and wrinkless khakis.

It's emotionally taxing.

Investing isn't an emotional decision, if cash flow isn't positive, appreciation not what it was, market possibly reaching a peak... all good signs to that you could be in some real trouble down the road.
