So I think it could also be a lifestyle decision, my parents who are reaching retirement age, would be more inclined to go after turnkey deals b/c that allows them to be hands off.

Hope this helps.The OP was talking about Roth ConversionsConverting from a Traditional Retirement Account to a Roth Account is a taxable event.But you are right, most rollovers from a traditional to a traditional, or Roth to another Roth Account are not considered taxable events.
