For post cards, use yellow card stock and have a printer (Minuteman Press; PIP; etc - NOT a copy store like Office Depot) merge your card copy with the address list and print them on the card stock and cut them for you.

I once thought that capital gains from stock investments can be negated from RE losses, but a friend of mine said that it's not eligible. 

I'm studying for the real estate principles final exam at UCLA, and I'm having a hell of a time with the math section.

I have capital that is currently invested (and performing well) in the stock market - but I've experienced the rise and fall of markets, and would like to own something tangible that will also generate cash flow.  

I have some left over stock still holding from 2009.

PS - If you follow the economist Harry Dent, he'd advise to sell everything and stock up on cash.
