If it were me, I'd remind the remaining tenants and the family of the injured tenant, that everyone (injured tenant, not the family) is responsible for paying the entire rental amount. 

We always remind each other that we started doing this so we could have freedom, so if growing too fast is going to inhibit that freedom we will slow down.Thanks again for the questions!

This might be a redundant post but every few times it's a good reminder that they are leeches out there trying to make a few bucks on your property without your permission and end up scamming good people.

I then take the opportunity to remind them to let me know about any issues.
