What do should a person look for when hiring a property manager/property management company to manage your rentals?

In my experience since time is money, I always hire out this initial process and have professional who does this regularly conduct a thorough feasibility study to tell me what's the best route to get me the biggest bang on a particular lot, look at Density allowances, etc. 

I understand I may need an attorney or hire a company, but want to find the right resource.Thank you again,

I am a fan of leveraging your time so I would recommend just hiring a property manager to manage the other units if you are purchasing a duplex, tri or quad.

Because I have time right now, I'm planning to transfer my event management skills to general contracting and hire subs for the rehab. 

I am a medical sales rep and real estate investor in Maryland.

Why is it not hire today? 

@Chey Zwicker even though the property is off market, I would suggest hiring an inspector to view during due diligence. 

If this isn't something you are willing to hire out and repair this isn't something that should come out of the deposit.  

I would fix it this time and tell her if it happens again, that she will have to hire a locksmith to replace the door lock at her expense and call it a day.
