For many reasons, mainly to raise our 2 small children (1 and 2years young) somewhere else.We sold everything (including our 9 unit rental portfolio), closed our business and started completely fresh.

For value add investors the work around is to turn units over and start fresh with new tenants.

I’ll have to put about $5k to give it a fresh look.

@Jonathan HulenOne unit from what I can see in last years pictures just needs some fresh paint and maybe updated floors.

I am perfectly happy living in a paid-off $50K over-under duplex with a fresh 30-year roof and renting out the upstairs to fully cover my expenses.

I think we really put it in perspective when lake Baikal has something like 30 to 50% of all the fresh water on earth :)Ag takes the vast majority of the water.
