From my understanding, if the landlord wishes to deduct any amount from a security deposit after a tenant moves out, the landlord must provide an itemized return letter with receipts for each reported issue.If a majority of the repairs/cleaning was completed by the landlord, how can you provide a receipt for the work (assuming the landlord had all needed supplies on hand to complete the work)?

Especially considering doors were busted up in all 4 units.Anyways, the ONE time we had our tenant put a hole in the hollow core door (and the drywall- they claimed the fist sized, shoulder level holes were from moving the dresser), we replaced the door with a solid door and deducted the price of a hollow door from their deposit.
