Hearing and reading the same information she went down to the building department to get the info from the horses mouth. 

For me I just let them ride until I sold one of the properties and the other I'm keeping until I refinance later on.Also keep in mind many lenders don't like borrowers using the HELOC money to buy another property.

I'm totally new so I'm just going to go down to the city office and get the info straight from the horses mouth.

Might be worth considering a long term tenant for those months at a discount of some kind so there's a hybrid rental strategy where you get yield from the summer months as a vacation rental but don't have to ride the offseason without some kind of cash flow.
