The company I worked with is very reputable, and the premiums are well worth it (in my opinion).

It is your responsibility to find out from a reputable source (And that is DEFINITELY NOT Biggerpockets where everyone is a self-proclaimed expert).Find out from a real estate lawyer you can trust.

It would be great if they had contractors or at least knew reputable contractors also in case of needed repairs.

First, to explore the management services and see if it was worth it (she offered various packages including taking care of just the advertising/vetting process).

The more reputable apartment complexes will have had their leases vetted or drafted by real estate attorneys familiar with local laws.  

I am not looking to fight rush hour 5 times a week when I have a vacancy, my time is a priority to me.Get into town and explore the city.
