I type in my notes and print them out and stick them into the tenants physical files, or I just may not print them out until the tenant actually moves and I make their account inactive in QuickBooks.

Particularly since 2008, in the US we're moreover now in "uncharted waters" under UN subsidiary, Maritime Admiralty 'legalese...' but one thing is obvious, those in power (you've likely never heard of) can order the "printing" of (seemingly) unlimited Xs and Os, plus the approx. 2% of fiat monopoly IOUs in physical circulation (IH$ dollar bills, for e.g.)

I love your recommendation  of the John Reed book but seems his books are out of print and hard to get.

Those who know how to invest locally, and have the means, have been printing money over the last 2 decades here. 

Code enforcement departments use computers, etc for keeping track of all their violations...they can find a way to print off the data for you.
