I am looking for a mentor, not looking to share profits(unless I have some skin in the game), otherwise I am willing to do some of the day to day stuff that you don't want to spend your time on. 

Learn proper saving habits and spending habits to help ease the process.  

For now, I'll be spending my time crawling the BP forums and site to increase my knowledge and do a lot of networking!

So if you save and reinvest your cash flow instead of spending it somewhere, your net worth is increased.The book addressed this early in the book I think.

Spending the year studying and saving.

Spend your time networking locally, spend your time on BP and just make friends.

When the banks spend money on these assets, they are given tax benefits for doing so. 

Not to get all folksy, but if you're just learning to swim, it's better to spend ample time in the shallows perfecting your strokes before diving into the shark-infested sea.

I've been working as an engineer for the past 20 years and have built up about $325K in my 401K but I hate the idea of building this up until I retire and then spending it all after I retire.
