I applaud the effort but property management is not software, it's not VC's and angel investors and tech.

Our goal is to replace my old software income with passive income (notes, rentals) over the next several years so that we can continue to travel the world and participate in more volunteer opportunities.

Do people just use a pencil and paper or is there specialized software for this?

I made sure each had some sort of property software that documented everything for me (checks, invoices, etc).

Right now I'm using Buildium as my software which I would't want to go without.

By day, I am a software developer, but for the past year or so I have been diving in to all things real estate with goals for short-term (flips) and long-term (rents) real estate investing.

I've since continued to work in IT and now work as a Senior Consultant for a well known software company.

So the candidate would need to be organized, clean, dependable, able to work part-time but pick up the pace when extra vacancies, able to coordinate maintenance person and contractors, use of computer (can learn the management software easily).

I am a software developer by trade and will soon be moving to Richmond, VA to begin my development career after graduation.I have been interested in REI for about a year now and have spent most of this time reading books, listening to podcast, lurking the BP forums, and attending a few local REIA meetings.

I'm looking for your recommendation on preferred software for book keeping.
