I use a local branch of Farmers here in Colorado to insure my business with a general and professional liability policy but I use American Modern Insurance for the property I own to replace my homeowners policy. 

You will stand out in a market like Colorado where owners bring dogs with them for vacation often but I think there is too much risk if you want to have a well maintained property. 

Let's just say the apartments weren't very nice and they were expensive.Flash to 2014 when my son went to college here in Colorado.  

I just recently found that there are CPA's who work virtually, which may be a good fit for me since I live in a smaller town, although I could easily work with someone in Colorado Springs or Denver as well. 

Colorado has a great short term rental market with 3x the return you'd see in LTR's.
