My goal with an RE license is to primarily have access to the MLS, run my own comps at will and to have the capability to send out as many offers at a time (something that would drive my regular RE agent nuts, especially for the amounts that I'd submit for a targeted BRRR, Fix'nFlip or Wholesale, etc.).

Anyways, this is how the timing played out:2 weeks to prepare drawings and find contractor5 weeks to get building permit once drawings submitted to building dept8 weeks for 95% of renovation & passing inspection (the last 5% of reno continued even after tenants moved in).15 weeks total.

You will find this practice fairly common with companies that have insurance premiums over $500,000.When done properly, the consultant will review your program, discuss your over all risk, and how you want to Transfer, Retain, Mitigate or Avoid those risks through different strategies and tools (insurance being the Transfer tool).Once you and the consultant come to a conclusion on your risk tolerance, they should build bid specs or an RFP you can submit to other insurance brokers of your choosing to get proposals.
