Some of the big players in our area are sitting on around hundred a piece with tons of room in the sub division.One of the real big players blew in 5 or 6 roads in a huge sub division poured around 25 basement before winter rates went into play and they are still sitting as open basement to this day.In my area subs have become super greedy and want a fortune. 

They used the supposed rental income of the first home before I even had a tenant in it to add to my income on the 2nd property as well, winning!

Also, you get face to face contact with all the players in the industry.

While some of the bigger players may not always attend the clubs, the more savvy clubs will know who the players are in the market.

And let me tell you that, if you want to have the chance to win in a Mexican court of law against a Mexican national, you better have yourself a good lawyer.

Not necessarily the most comfortable option for everyone but that can be one way to financially win at renting.

I think Buildium is winning for me at the moment!

The big players of course will survive, but the smaller players will not be able to handle the additional burdens. 

However, the city is still small enough (400,000 population) and overlooked by the bigger players that there are a lot of low priced high return opportunities.

If not, it's still a win if it cash flows well.
