I found an interesting discussion on related topics here: https://www.biggerpockets.com/forums/20/topics/208...Based on the fact that I am still working on the house I live in now and I am working on repairs to a duplex I bought as a rental in the city, it could certainly take me a year or more to complete all the repairs / renovations required on this HUD property since I plan to do everything myself and I'm not a seasoned construction veteran. One thing to mention is I am planning to purchase using cash - no mortgage or financing, not sure if that has an impact on the conversation or not.Our first child was born about 2 months ago, so I'm not really sure what the future holds.
