I ride my bike down different streets every weekend and write down the addresses of distressed homes. we run the titles and see if theres any juicy info. even if I don't get anyt great info back its the process of thinking this way that will hep in the end. if your hungry enough you will find a way. when I was stuck I simply went outside and looked at all the houses in my neighborhood . started paying attention to what was selling and what was sitting.

I have been nothing but determined to get into real estate the more I listen to the podcasts and the more I read the forums here but at times feel overwhelmed when looking around, and am concerned about buying in an area I know little about.

I only did a 9 property portfolio and 9 separate addresses made the whole buying process very painful.

Again, not mandatory but seems to be more common as the concern increases about the health issues related to cesspools.Mark

My biggest concern would be that if you focus on the roadblocks, that is all you will see.I'd encourage you to focus on the ways you can make money in real estate.   

With it you can look up single address or parcel numbers for free or farm area to compile and list.

At first, I was looking on the counties online public record but unfortunately I will have to search for individual addresses and after doing some more research I came across that is possible to get a listing through the MRIS.

That's a very real concern (definitely one I had when I was starting out).

If your concern is positive cash flow, you are typically less concerned about when you pay off your debt because the goal is the positive cash flow.

That is the portion of the deal I'm concerned about or better put unfamiliar.
