I read the e-book 7 Years to 7 Figure Wealth and it mentions using $200/unit/month as the target.

Since joining, I have started downloading the wonderful E-books provided by BP as to better grasp the basics and to educate myself before taking steps towards entering the real estate market, such as a realtors license. 

Yet in both of those scenarios I'm still in the E quadrant.

If the deed is in your name the property is probably reported on your personal 1040 Schedule E. 

harder to do than most people realize.. since your in E Wen  maybe Winnemucca would be a good under the radar place that has none of the natural disasters you mention.. maybe just a tiny bit of snow .. and you could drive there in a long day.. on cool back country roads..
