I think this is typical in CA, Real Estate is recovering at a very fast rate and people have the mind set that they have to grap their share befor it is too late.

Most of the parking lots Downtown has had a decrease in rentals, so they've increased the price of parking there to recover some of the lost income from the people coming to the City Hall, Title Company, DMV, etc, the one-day trips...
