I ran a criminal check on a workman  recently hired & found out he is a convicted felon & was in prison until 2011 ( crime-identity theft).

Of course, that's the last thing you want to do and if they give you a hard time about deposit, you could hire an attorney to review the P&S and see if there is an escape route you could entertain.

I have 5 turnovers coming up in one week in August, the first 3 on the same day so we are allowing a little more time there and hiring help which we normally don't do with just one apartment turning over.Also, do you have any pictures from when the house was empty last time?

I have contacted the licensing board 3 times as well as my local building code office, and each time I have been informed that you the owner, regardless of whether you are hiring a GC, MUST have a contractor's license.
