In my opinion you cannot file ejectment if you cannot serve the lawsuit papers on the defendant(s).Other attorneys do this routinely, and ask the court to grant service by publication.Again, in my opinion (and others may disagree with me) the only time you are allowed to get service by publication under Rule 4.3, Alabama Rules of Civil Procedure (reprinted below.)Ejectment is not a claim that is historically equitable.

Hey folks, so I am planning on buying a SFH this year in Birmingham AL.

Just like Bonds, ETFs, Foreign Stocks, CD Ladders, et al... almost any instrument you see suggested has an equivalency in real estate.

I understand that 60-80k won't buy a house in a premium neighborhood, but looking for one that is turn key ready should somewhat mitigate al least the high maintenance part.

That happened to several investors I network with in Florida and Alabama.
