From the overall investor-with-investments perspective, rather than operator, there are properties and places with wells--i.e., not on municipal.This may be totally obvious to the poster and many viewers, but I often find if people invest in a limited geographic area it's easy to assume certain costs as price-of-doing business.

Robinson which has then led me to BiggerPockets but, I believe the key difference is the individual deciding whether or not the want to make this a genuine lifestyle shift and run it like a true business or if they are, like you stated, only wanting and hoping for some fast cash.
