I saw a title about that in the BP Forums but hadn't investigated. 

You should have gotten a breakdown of how much was being held for each tenant and anything less that a full security deposit should have been investigated and confirmed by the signed lease and/or a call to the existing tenant.

I will have to investigate my options for larger mortgages.

I have investigated this numerous times and never found it to make financial sense.

Investigate other property managers and see if you can get a better deal on that. 

If I look at another market, I have to take time to investigate it, build a team to handle everything for me, take the additional risk that comes with that, and then it's out-of-sight-out-of-mind.
