If they disclose how they are getting their compensation (and they're bound to be- it would become obvious at the closing I'd think), and the buyer is getting a property at a price they are happy with, then all is fine.

(I guess you could stop paying the taxes and let it go to that way, but you are going to incur fines, fees, and maybe a lawsuit if somebody gets hurt on the property while it is in your name.Bottom line, as a new investor - learn the statutes for tax liens first.
