In California, fhe process is a lot more time consuming and expensive.

It is time consuming to put together the lists.

For consumer stuff, it's fine (e.g. best restaurant in Stroudsburg, best dry cleaner in Stroudsburg, etc.).

I am not here to impose my belief on anyone else and I also think there will also always be space for hotels in the market but I tend to think competition is a good think in these kinds of calcified markets to break monopolistic tendencies, encourage creativity, and ultimately bring more choice to the consumer.

You'll most likely want to get a lender to pull your actual scores, lenders do not use consumer scoring models (yes there are 100's of scoring models).

Corporate cronyism kills free enterprize and hurts the consumer. 

Below is an example of such a Factors list:  (1) Strength or Weakness of the Plaintiff’s Mark. (2) Defendant’s Use of the Mark.(3) Similarity of Plaintiff’s and Defendant’s Marks. (4) Actual Confusion. (5) Defendant’s Intent. (6) Marketing/Advertising Channels. (7) Consumer’s Degree of Care. (8) Product Line Expansion. [(9) Other Factors.

Standard disclaimer of not being a lawyer, but with regulatory trends going more towards consumer protection, I could see this getting very sticky in court if anything happened where you weren't able to pay back a security deposit.
