I listened to countless podcast hosts talking about hitting 30 doors in their first two years, or having $X net worth in 5, or whatever it was and thought to myself "yeah, well I don't come from that kind of family or don't have that kind of connections" and various other excuses. 

The most efficient way is to reach out to other hosts on Airbnb/vrbo and see if they will share their numbers with you.

I’m considering hosting a small meetup in Tahoe in the next month.

Not to mention many in the Portland metro area get tired of the constant cloud and rain and will retire over in that area.. 

I've been an Airbnb "super host" and a VRBO "premier" host for the past two years and believe me, I have learned SO much since I started.

They are charging guests up to 20% service fees now, not to mention what they are charging hosts/homeowners.
