I would caution against waiving any of your usual criteria for renters, and make sure that all background checks and verifications are done by yourself in addition to whatever the 'credit repair' company does.

Way too expensive for the owner... and no fun for me.Lessons learned... the criminal background check aspect of tenant screening is of vital importance, as is mandatory inspections...

Quick background to my situation is my wife and I own a home (well she owns it, nothing in my name due to credit at the time) and our neighbors house went up sale a few months ago.

I did a criminal background check, called and emailed a list of references he provided, then cross checked him and his references on social media and professional sites.

My questions are what methods would be recommended for:With them not using a computer, what methods would be recommended for application, background/credit check, income verification?

Something about it feels too good to be true.Any thoughts on how to do background on a private lender?

It's important to note I don't accept anyone who pings me on the platform - I only accept people who seem enthusiastic and have background/want to learn basic skills (eg. painting).

So to add a little more background, I have been a Realtor in those 2 years as well, but didn't really give much effort to that after realizing it wasn't really what I wanted to do. 

Aside from that, there's the obvious - background check, credit check for eviction records/judgments, etc.
