I'm not a CPA but I imagine you'll be prorated on the space and duration you occupy of the whole.Just answer all the Tax preparer questions truthfully and you'll pay just what you owe without worrying about tax evasion.

We buy houses, I buy houses, we pay cash for houses, cash for your house, any rendition of that is not going to fit truth in advertising, the clear implication is is that the advertiser buys the house.

The handyman thing can really backfire because if/when someone figures out the truth you either look like a total wuss or a liar. 

I don't know if he is telling truth about threat this time I was thinking to give both notice , not sure if that makes it worse though?
