However, there are also single family properties that can offer great returns as well.As for navigating buying a duplex with tenants, it's important to do your due diligence and review the current lease agreements to see if they will fit your plans as a landlord.

My company works with Insurance Adjusters, as a third party, to find short term leases for local families who have lost their homes due to damages.

This would be my first multi family investment opportunity, and If it goes the way I’d like, I can purchase 2 more duplex’s from the same owner.

Banks don’t like that, nor for resale.Realize this property is part of your family history, but would have an Immobiliarie research the property and identify all issues and give a repair estimate before digging deeper into this.
