I’m struggling to understand that perspective because it seems to me like if I have a property manager, they would be the one to contact about anything related to both sides of the duplex, and I don’t foresee my ex and I needing to be in touch until the day comes when we want to sell.Am I missing something?

The high-tech jobs continue to be created in San Diego, but these high-tech jobs pay less in San Diego than they pay in many other markets (the sunshine tax).My view is San Diego has many people with good jobs that pay less than other locales (so the home expense is significant), but it also has service people and homeless people who struggle to live here (the home expense presents big challenges).

I mean, the NOI on a particular property can be great, but if its got 3 years left on the lease from a struggling tenant and needs HVAC replacements of $250K its maybe a worse bet than one with 10 years on the lease with a fortune 1000 tenant and a lower NOI.
