My long term dream plan is to start with multi-family rental properties, as that grows I would like to help cut costs by maybe starting my own property management company, also do syndicated deals, set up a real estate brokerage, really just in general ways that I can keep expanding is I grow into multiple areas and different businesses the real estate has to offer.

As time goes buy, that first multi-unit purchase becomes more and more attractive/profitable.  

However, it seems like a difficult feat in this market with housing prices so high and the scarcity of multi-family units in the area.For those not familiar with the northern Virginia market, 2br condos go for 450k-500k and rent for $2800.

What types of properties (single family, small multi-family, mobile homes, condos, etc)?

I’ve done forum searches, but still have questions.I’ve done only two all-cash deals so far for small multi-family properties and I’m ready to dip into borrowing.
