Just looking for legal ways to keep my money!  

If I may suggest if you are looking for specific legal, accounting or some other specialty knowledge information my standard answer is based on my 25 years experience but with the caveat to always check with a local professional in that specific field.  

The legal standard, not your standard, is what a reasonable and prudent person would do.

I like most of what you said buy why don't you learn legal ways to raise money and forming Partnerships and buy apartment complexes? 

I live in northern Canada (so I understand there are legal differences from our neighbours to the south) and would like to start a real estate investing corporation with a few coworkers.We would be a group of about 5-7 individuals investing in Canada with options to spread into the States if things go well.What I would like advice on is what kind of verbiage to include in our contractual agreement (bylaws, unanimous shareholder agreement, etc.).

The papers were signed by the Legal Power of Attorney.

In that case a failure could take a long time to bounce back from versus a doctor worth 1.4 million but making 800k a year and net worth is growing fast.No legal advice given.  

My experience has been that homes cut up into units may or may not be legal in any given community.
